You can sort and search the table below based on keywords, or any of the column headers. For example, try searching “bridge” – you’ll find results about both Bridge St. in Hotchkiss, and bridges across our rivers. Or perhaps you’d like to see if a relative of yours donated any of these photos – search for their name like “Hotchkiss” or “Hanson”. Donor names will show up in the “Provenance column”.
The Omeka Link column will show if the photo has been added to our online archive. You can sort the table to see all available online photos by clicking Omeka Link twice (make sure it is sorted in descending order). If you find a photo that isn’t online – you can request its digitization. Please email the Identifier to info@hchsmuseum.org
This project is ongoing – some records may have spelling mistakes etc. If you have any questions please reach out.

| 1997-07-23 | Crawford 1892 || Crawford -1892 Post Office | Men on horses, Women in Buggy | Pictured above in the center with a black dress, Eliza Ong was a tireless worker, often driving a wagon by herself clear to Delta for supplies for the store. If she needed lumber, she went to Black Mesa to a sawmill and loaded the lumber herself. It is said she carried two pistols under her skirt for protection. Her health began to fail, and she took Paul Kruemling in as a partner. He and her son Floyd Zimmerman began to run the store. Right before her death in 1899, she planned her own funeral. She also deeded the spot for the church and cemetery. | 1892 | ? Carosel || Leone Maher Den Beste | View | |
| 1997-07-21 | Church, Crawford Community || Crawf. Church early | Crawford Community Church | The Crawford Community Church was organized in 1899 and met above Eliza Ong's store. Needing a building of their own, the congregation sought donations. Lumber was free-of-charge at the Brock and Harpst sawmill. Zaum and Zaum build the church, which was dedicated in 1900. The cemetery is located directly behind the church. | ? carosel | View | ||
