Do you know where the cabin attached to the museum came from?
It was built right across the street!
In the pictures above, (from the 1941 Guntoters Parade) you can see the house with its prior owner Dolly Inghram (Mcswain), before it was moved to adjoin the museum.
This log cabin was originally located across the street, next to what was the Feed and Grain Store. It was probably built in the 1890’s or about 1900 & moved to this site in 1999. In 2004, as part of the construction of the museum building, a doorway was cut so that the cabin could be entered from the museum rather than the steps in front of the two original doorways.
We have preserved in the cabin many household items, such as textiles, quilts, notions and sewing machines; tack from various ranches, including an early barbed wire collection & brand board; advertisements and grocery items from early Hotchkiss.
